MOT's

What is an MOT?

The MOT test is a proper examination of a motor vehicle’s safety related system components to ensure that they have not worn to an excessive level which would otherwise render the vehicle unsafe for use on the road. Every vehicle in the UK needs to be tested each year to ensure that it complies with roadworthiness standards. This is a legal requirement.

MOT FAQ's

Your MOT will usually take between 45 minutes and 1 hour. You can leave your car with us and we will give you a call when your vehicle is ready.

If your car requires any repairs we will inform you of such before carrying out any repairs. The time for repair work can vary depending on the kind of repairs required.

If your car fails its MOT test this means that it does not meet the legal requirements that allow it to be driven on the road and must be repaired so that it meets these requirements.

However if repaired due to the correct standards within 10 working days we are happy to offer a FREE retest.

You can check the current status of any vehicle online. This includes;

* The date of the last test
* The mileage at the time of the last test and
* The expiry date of the test.

If your vehicle passes but there are maintenance issues of which you should be aware, we will be pleased to book an appointment for you at a convenient time and arrange for these items to be repaired.

If your vehicle passes the MOT test, we will issue you with a VT20 pass certificate. It is very important you keep this in a safe place as you will need the certificate to renew your road tax. Should you misplace or damage your VT20 we are able to provide a replacement copy for a small fee..
